Since 1976, Utopian Rope Sandals have been hand-made by members of cooperatively run East Wind Community, Inc. in the Ozark hills of rural southern Missouri.
Born out of an effort to up cycle our hammocks production rope leftovers, East Winders began a process of trial and error to make something of value from this industry's waste materials.
